Since 2017 he is Global Head of Business Development and M&A. Carmelo Scalone leads an international team whose main mission is the expansion of Renantis’ portfolio and international presence, combining greenfield development, acquisitions, entry into new markets and technological differentiation.

He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the La Sapienza University of Rome and has completed a course in Business Administration at the School of Business Management of the Bocconi University in Milan and an Advanced Management Program at the IESE Business School in Barcelona.

Before joining Renantis in 2017, he was on the Executive Committee of EDF Renouvelables in Paris, with global responsibility for Business Development activities.

He has been working in the renewable energy sector since 2000.

Between 2000 and 2007 he held the position of CEO of Gamesa Energía Italia in Rome and subsequently of Executive Vice President of the Gamesa group for the entire Mediterranean region.

Between 2007 and 2013, he was Executive Vice President of Business Development at EDP Renewables in Madrid.

He began his career in ABB, in Italy and in Sweden, holding roles of increasing responsibility during 8 years, including that of Chief Commercial Officer in ABB Energy Automation.
