Falck Renewables’ Illois, France Wind Farm reaches commercial operation

Milan, Italy, 11 July 2022 – Falck Renewables has added 12 MW to its portfolio with the wind farm in Illois (France) reaching Commercial Operations Date (COD).

Located in the municipality of Illois, Seine-Maritime department, one of the windiest areas in France, the six-turbine wind farm is expected to produce around 28 GWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to the consumption of around 6,600 households.

Illois Wind Farm is Falck Renewables’ tenth French wind farm. The Group now has 110 MW of wind capacity in the country with its presence in France dating back to 2006.

In line with Falck Renewables’ commitment to sharing the value created by its developments with local communities, the Illois project will feature a strong community engagement approach. Initiatives for people living around the wind farm will be unveiled at the plant’s official opening in September.

Local children have already been introduced to the wind farm during construction, with visits last October and March this year from Illois nursery and primary schools, bringing together pupils living in Illois, Auvilliers, Landes-Vieilles-et-Neuves and Ronchois. The 65 pupils who took part in the visits learned more about wind energy and how a wind farm is built and operated.
