Falck Renewables acquires 100% of two solar projects under development in Sicily

FALCK RENEWABLES ACQUIRES 100% OF TWO SOLAR PROJECTS UNDER DEVELOPMENT IN SICILY 

Milan, Italy, December 17, 2020 – Falck Renewables S.p.A. announces the purchase of the remaining 30% of Big Fish SPV S.r.l. and Iron SPV S.r.l. from Canadian Solar Group.

Big Fish SPV S.r.l. owns a solar project currently under development in the provinces of Catania and Siracusa, Sicily, for a total capacity in excess of 250 MW. The project, that has secured grid connection and preliminary land rights, has applied for permits and authorizations at the end of 2019.

Iron SPV S.r.l. owns a solar project under development in the province of Catania. The total capacity of the project is about 35 MW. The project has secured grid connection and preliminary land rights and has applied for permits and authorizations in June 2020.

With this purchase, Falck Renewables completes the 100% acquisition of both corporate capitals. The acquisition of 70% of Big Fish SPV S.r.l. and Iron SPV S.r.l. from Canadian Solar Group was closed respectively on July 25, 2019 and December 19, 2019.

This acquisition confirms again Falck Renewables’ commitment to developing high-quality greenfield photovoltaic projects in Italy.
