PRESS RELEASE
Construction work begins at Falck Renewables’ wind farms in Finland
Milan, Italy, 7 July 2022 – Construction work at Falck Renewables’ wind projects in Finland has now started. Falck Renewables had purchased the two ready-to-build wind farms last November from Danish group European Energy.
The two projects, Mustalamminmäki and Koiramäki, are located in the municipality of Karstula (Central Finland), with a total installed capacity of 59 MW.
Once in operation, the wind farms are expected to produce around 168 GWh of electricity annually, equivalent to the energy needs of about 20,000 households.

Mustalamminmäki and Koiramäki are the first projects for Falck Renewables in Finland.
In the next months, the work will lead to excavations, foundations until the delivering of substations, installation of turbines and eventual commercial operations, which is expected by the end of 2023.
The main contractor for civil and electrical works is Stenger & Ibsen Construction, while the turbines are supplied by Nordex Group who will also be responsible for their maintenance.
As at other Falck Renewables’ plants around the world, people living near the two wind farms will benefit from the Group’s community engagement programs. Falck Renewables had started working on an initiative engaging local partners to support projects by sharing the value created.
